Software Tools
These are some of the tools we use to create great custom software.
Microsoft Access
Access applications can be a critical part of small business operations.
Some examples include:
- Customer Tracking & Customer Relations
- Inventory & Stock Management
- Purchase Orders & Invoicing
SQL Server
Microsoft SQL Server can be used as a central, shared database providing a perfect "back-end" to Access's "front-end".
SQL Server runs on a server in your network so that database applications on each desktop machine have secure access to it.
Office VBA
VBA stands for Visual Basic for Applications. It is the programming language for all the Microsoft Office Applications.
Access VBA is perfectly suited for automating all the aspects and procedures in Access.
It can also be used to automate Word VBA, Excel VBA, and Outlook VBA - making it a powerful tool for automated graphs and diagrams as well as beautifully formatted reports.
Pro DB Developers are experts with all of these products and how they work together. Contact us today for a free consultation. Let's discuss how we can create a powerful database application to help run and organize your business.

MS Office Apps
Applications Using Access, Word, Excel, and Outlook
An Office App uses the products of the Microsoft Office Suite and is usually designed for businesses that do not have a local network. Access can be used to automate, or control, the other Office products but they can also be used independently.
Microsoft Word
As everyone knows, Word is a word processor application and is part of the Microsoft Office suite of products. It also can be programmed using VBA for automated processes such as mail merge, and extensively formatted reporting.
Microsoft Excel
Excel is a spreadsheet program that provides a table layout for any data that needs to be analyzed. It provides excellent graphs and charts and like any Office product can be programmed with VBA to do these tasks automatically.
Microsoft Outlook
Outlook is an email application. In addition to using it to check and organize your email, it can be used for contacts, calendar, and appointment scheduling. As you may have guessed, it can be programmed and automated using VBA.
Pro DB Developers have decades of experience with all the products in the Microsoft Office Suite. We can create useful applications with any one of these products or all of them working together.

Web Apps
Manage customer-facing parts of your business with a web app.
A web app is a database-driven application that provides an interactive user interface for you and your customers that can be accessed from any device.
A web app is similar to a mobile app except that the user does not need to go the App Store or the Play Store to download the app. Web apps are available on all devices.
Web apps are ideal for things like:
- Appointment Schedulers
- Customer Check-ins
- Interactive Business Portals
The reason they are a better choice for these use cases is because a mobile app would require your customers to download and install a mobile app before they could accomplish simple functionality.
A web app is ready to go on any device.
